Why we started MilaDate
MilaDate began with a simple, frustrating observation: the people most likely to want a real, lasting relationship were the people least served by modern dating apps.
In 2022, our founding team - a small group of product designers, safety researchers, and customer-care specialists in the United States - kept hearing the same story from friends, parents, and neighbors over 45. After a divorce or the loss of a spouse, they wanted to meet someone again. They tried the popular apps. And they came back disappointed: shallow profiles, age-inappropriate matches, pushy messaging, and an unsettling number of scams.
We decided to build something different. Not a younger app retrofitted for older users, but a dating platform designed from the first sketch for mature American men and women.
